Relationships
I’ve been blessed to have some very caring people suggest books for my marriage, because they want it to succeed.
Naturally I want to share them with others because I believe relationships are worth fighting for in 95% of the cases.
There are, quite literally, more than 100,000 marriage books available. So I’ll just list the top three that I have read personally.
My favorites include The Love Dare (mentioned in the movie, FireProof), The 5 Love Languages and Love and Respect.
These can be read by either spouse, and they work for marriage and a committed relationship. I literally don’t think I could pick my favorite from these 3 because they all provide helpful insight into a successful LOVING marriage. The Love Languages book also has a version for Single people and one for children.
Personal Development
First and foremost, if you haven’t read most of Dale Carnegies book, specifically How to Win Friends and Influence people, and Normal Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive Thinking- you need to. Like RIGHT now. These are classics.
Yes, they are old school and if something is still round after all this time- it’s because it works! Included in that list would be, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey (but it is a little harder to read!!).
Some newer books that I’ve enjoyed are pretty popular and at the top of the best seller list. Again, they are there for a reason! They each have key points that resonate with the audience and actionable steps for self improvement and personal development. So go ahead, judge a book by its cover, and get reading! Those would be, You are a Badass, UnF*ck Yourself, and Girl Wash Your Face.
Leadership
Relationships and Personal Development go hand in hand with a good leader, so don’t skip over the books recommended above!
John C. Maxwell is one of my favorites for leadership inspiration- and yes, he has several books to choose from. The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership is a must have for anyone in a leadership position.
I also appreciate the book, The Power Of Habit, so you can understand WHY people do what they do.
Other Favorite books on Leadership include The Art Of War, Think and Grow Rich, and Start with Why.
This list is by no means exhaustive- I’ve got a bookshelf of my favorites and then more books piled in boxes and then even more books on my kindle. knowledge is power my friends!
If you have a book recommendation that you think would benefit me, please reach out and let me know! I love to connect with my readers.
